Owner of ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning by Legacy – had two desires as she opened up her own business. The first desire was to give back and make an impact in her local community. The second, was that she wanted to do it in memory of her beautiful mother, Coty Avedician, who passed away from breast cancer. That’s why she chose the name Legacy for her company and why giving back to those fighting cancer is so important to Heidi.
Heidi is a proud mom to two son (ages 32 & 20) – one of whom works with her in this local, woman-owned small business. She was recently recognized as an outstanding Hispanic Community Leader by the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and UTEP in the Sunbowl, during a UTEP home game, making her one of only 20 women-owned business leaders to be recognized for her professional accomplishments and contributions to our community! Additionally, Heidi is a community partner, serving as an Advisory Board Member of the Women’s Business Border Center, which is a Technical Center of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and is a member on the ServiceMaster Clean® National Franchise Committee (NFC).
ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning by Legacy
In addition to its deep community involvement, ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning by Legacy provides many services to the El Paso community, including: commercial cleaning janitorial services, post construction cleaning, cleaning and restoring floors, carpet cleaning, window cleaning and pressure washing with a certification in COVID-19 cleaning.
Heidi currently leads a staff of 30 team members and feels very blessed that her team members are dedicated, hardworking, reliable and honest. She has even had team members who started with her when the business opened in 2018.
Heidi’s goals are to keep growing the company, create more opportunities to hire veterans and people with disabilities, and give back to the community by donating to local non-profit organizations and supporting their causes – especially her favorite non-profit, the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation, in El Paso where all the proceeds that are donated are used 100% within our community. This organization assisted Heidi’s mother when she was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer, making it very special to her.
When asked about the biggest challenges to her business, it is clear Heidi embraces each challenge as an opportunity. She says that every day she learns something new in order to improve her business processes although sometimes these lessons come from mistakes! Heidi considers her mother and grandmother her most inspiring mentors as their perseverance and determination was something to be modeled. Although both are no longer present, their memories and their advice still guide Heidi as she continues to grow her business and leave a legacy for the next generation.
ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning by Legacy is part of a larger network within ServiceMaster Brands®, the leading franchise provider of needs-based residential and commercial services. Heidi believes so strongly in the ServiceMaster Brands® core values of We Serve, We Care, We Deliver, & We Do that she has aligned so much of her business with these, including making them the mission of her business where they guide the way for Heidi, her team, their customers and the greater community.
Heidi’s secret to her success has been “work hard, take risks, don’t be afraid to fail, think outside the box and lead from the heart.” With that mindset, the future can only look bright for Heidi and ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning by Legacy.
